Kathy Jones - November Monthly Summary

I learned about non-western style of learning. I also learned about memorization and the comparison between young adults and older adult in how the brain helps one memorize things. People have sensory memory, short-term memory and long-term memory.

I came into November feeling better about the group project. Our communication as a group improved. We continued to communicate via email as that seemed to work best for our busy schedules. Cheryl and Casey were able to have our program design evaluated by individuals they knew working at higher education institutions. I really liked the feedback we received and could see the areas of improvement. While we were able to create a program, we failed to include a syllabus that included grading for attendance, participation and completion of assignments. After the evaluations, we began working on our project demonstration.  We all expressed our desire to use Prezi but didn’t know a lot about using it. Casey knew more than Cheryl and I and was able to complete the project in Prezi. Casey took the lead in suggesting who should do what parts and we agreed to finish as she suggested. Cheryl and I provided our parts to Casey for transformation into Prezi.

For the next month, I will prepare my reflection paper and complete any incomplete work that needs to be turned in. I will also look at and comment on project demonstration for two other groups.
